Tour
It all started with a 100 Day Challenge I created, entitled "Operation, Run Forrest." I've never been a fan of running, but long-story-short, this crazy dude named David Goggins inspired me to try running. Week 1, I wanted to run 7 miles for the entire week ... for an average of 1 mile per day. Week 2 increased to 8 miles for the week, and so on ... until I reached the final week, which had me running 20 miles for the week.
I pulled part of the inspiration for the challenge from the movie Forrest Gump, where he said, "That day, for no particular reason, I decided to go for a little run. So I ran to the end of the road. And when I got there, I thought maybe I'd run to the end of town. And when I got there, I thought maybe I'd just run across Greenbow County. And I figured, since I run this far, maybe I'd just run across the great state of Alabama."
And then he ran clear across the USA ... multiple times.
So I decided to create The Let's Go Brandon RV Tour ... which ultimately, had me traveling from Richmond to Wilmington to Myrtle Beach to Charleston to Savannah to Jacksonville to Panama City to Destin to Birmingham, ALABAMA ... where I did, in fact, run ... like my boy Forrest. Ha.
I used my Planet Fitness VIP Membership in each city to stay consistent with that week's running goals, throughout my Let's Go Brandon RV Tour ... which lasted nearly a month. All 17 miles from Week 11 were spent running the beautiful beaches of Panama City and Destin. The final miles of the challenge were spent running the Virginia Beach Boardwalk.
The Operation Run, Forrest Challenge also included 15 minutes of daily meditation, 15 minutes of daily reading, and zero alcohol for the duration of the 100 days. It was a life-changing experience. PS. The Heineken 0.0 pictured is non-alcoholic.
While on Tour, I mostly stayed at KOA Campgrounds, but I also spent time in a State Park in Destin, and a cool campground in Panama City that will likely become my Winter snowbird home. It was just me and my pup, Trinity! My goal is to become a full-time Happy Camper, and travel the USA ... inspiring folks with My Message of Hope.
I HOPE to see you soon!
